THREE ROUNDS
Round One: Submit your recipe by October 21
All submissions will be reviewed by Daily Herald baking judges. The top two recipes will be selected from each category (10 total finalists) to go on to Round Two.
Round Two: Home Baking Challenge
The 10 Round One Finalists will present their baked good at the Home Baking Event on November 5th at Novak and Parker in Mount Prospect. Recipes will be judged by a panel of experts on overall taste, creativity, appearance and texture.
The top recipe in each category will be selected. These five Round Two Finalists will get a prize and will also go on to represent the Daily Herald at America's Baking and Sweets Show!
The judges will also select one baker as the Daily Herald Home Baking Challenge Champion, who will receive a special prize and will get recognition in the Daily Herald newspaper.
Round Three: America's Baking and Sweets Show
The five finalists will compete against other contestants in America's Baking and Sweets Show home baking challenge November 13 - 15 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center. Test kitchens will prepare your recipe on your behalf for presentation to the judges.
All those competing at ABSS will receive two complimentary tickets to the show. Note: You do not need to be present at ABSS to win.
ABSS will select one winner from each category, and each winner will receive the following prizes: Prize Pack from Lekue
USA ($200+ value), Prize Pack from goodcook ($220 value), Prize Pack from T-Fal ($220 value), and a gift
certificate valued at $79.99 from Massage Envy in Schaumburg
